Hair Weaving, Fixing and Bonding

Hair weaving is the application of artificial hair or a wig to a bald area on the scalp of an individual. It is a temporary solution for hair loss, and it is a non-surgical treatment that uses human or synthetic hair on the scalp. There are various hair weaving processes viz. bonding, fixing, tracking, fusion, etc. In this technique, the hair is glued to the existing hair or scalp. This hair does not grow as it does not contain roots or follicles for hair to grow. As hair weaving is an instant makeover, it has gained immense popularity amongst people. Who does not want to undergo surgical methods of hair transplant? They do not wish to wait for months to get that new look.

We know that baldness is a very grave problem for people. And hair transplant is the best solution for that, but some people do not want to undergo a hair transplant. The reasons could be-

• Surgery is involved in the treatment
• Some people cannot undergo surgical treatments like patients. Whose diabetes is not under control, or there are health issues with that individual. There are some people who wish to wait and do the procedure later. Till that time, hair weaving can be done.

It takes a lot of time for patients to see the results of the transplant. It could take as long as 3-4 months, and if you or any patient cannot wait for that long, and you wish to have a new look in a few hours. Then hair weaving is the right solution for you.

We will see how hair weaving is done. And what are the precautions that need to be taken whilst performing this treatment? This is one of our patients who is suffering from baldness. And this individual does not want to undergo a hair transplant. We gave him an option of hair weaving. And we are checking him for his condition of baldness. Wherein, we do a physical examination of bald spots on the scalp.

The person suffers from grade 4 baldness. The first step would be to check the areas where hair loss or baldness is greatest. And the area around the baldness is used to apply the patch. First, we take the measurement of the patch, from the front side to the back end of the scalp. So, a consequent patch of that size needs to be placed in that area.

Once the measurements are taken, the hair around the bald patch is trimmed for the patch to stick onto. To stick the patch of hair weaving there are different methods like taping, bonding, hair weaving, etc. These are various techniques that can be used for setting the patch on the scalp. For hair weaving, a strip of hair is removed or trimmed with a zero trimmer.

The patch that was cut is also trimmed; with zero trim, we get enough space to fix the patch. The patch that we are going to place contains 70% human fibers, and the rest is artificial fibers. It is called Ramie. Shampoo is applied on the wig and it is washed, and then it is blow-dried. Everything is taken care-off for hair weaving as it is being done in a clinical setup.

Utmost care is taken to ensure no infections or complications take place for our patients. The best quality patches are selected that contain the largest hair fibers. Special tapes are applied on the patches called fixing tapes. There could be allergic reactions due to the tape. But the tapes that we use cause no allergy for the patient or our clients. These are called Hypo allergic tapes.

If the right tape is not used, then it can cause severe damage to the skin. It can become very difficult to treat these infections. Do not ignore this small step. Now we use a special type of gum on the top, this gum is a very strong glue. And the chances of getting any allergies are quite minimal; this glue is Hypo allergic as well.

After this, moisturizers and lotions are applied to avoid allergies and the patch can be set properly. These are special fixing lotions; they make the patch more sticky. And reduce the chances of any allergy taking place on the skin of our clients. All the products that are used to ensure the best results are received from the clients.

This lotion is removed or washed so that excess lotion is removed. The patch that has been prepared needs to be placed on the recipient’s scalp. This patch is placed on the scalp with a lot of caution as gum and tape is applied to the patch. The patch is tightened from front to back and placed in the correct location.

Once the patch is in the right position, then it is massaged so that it gets fixed. After this, the hair is cut and shaved to get the right look as per the client. Water is sprayed on the hair and it is cut so that it gets the right shape or design. The net of the patch is very high quality and transparent as it blends with your skin color. The extra hair is cut and given the right shape, it looks very natural on the client’s hair.

The hair is blow-dried to give it the perfect shape so that the hair dries up and gets the perfect shape. The patch is very natural and does not feel like a patch is placed on the head. It takes around an hour to finish the procedure, thus hair weaving can cut your baldness in 2 hours.
